The best way to start is to call this course IPM 2. Boring, too focused on tedious processes, too trying-to-be-modern. If you did IPM in the Bachelor's and didn't love it, you probably won't like this one either.

The theoretical classes are pretty much irrelevant for the course. They can give you insights on heuristics and good practices, but seem overkill for a course with so many work. You will eventually end up starting to skip them and seeing you aren't losing anything.

The labs are useful. Prof. Catarina Fidalgo was the teacher we got and she was very helpful and considering in the...

This course has so many project deliveries, so you’re basically working on it all the time. It’s not something you can leave for the last weeks — there’s always another submission or milestone coming up.

I honestly gave up on the theoretical classes because they didn’t feel very useful for the project. Most of the work you need to do is practical, and the lectures didn’t really help that much with what we actually had to implement.

The biggest issue for me was the evaluation structure. The project had way too many steps and mini-evaluations, and it just felt excessive. Instead of focusing on...

The project requires weekly deliveries, which will take constant work. But it is easy to get good grades, provided you keep up with those.

It was an easy course. If you've done IPM in the bachelor's, this is seemed like a sequel to that.

The project has intermediate deliveries, so you need to keep working throughout the trimester. It's a very "creative" project, as you'll be creating a product from a predefined list of themes. Overall, it wasn't time consuming, you only have the project and that's it, so if you're thinking about doing an extra course, this is a good one in my opinion.

If you really want to know more about the topic, it's average in that regard. A bit boring.

I only took this course because I heard it was an easy one and there was no final exam. It was indeed easy; however, it was also very time-consuming. Since the evaluation was continuous, you had to deliver parts of the project every week. You also need to be a bit creative and have time to do interviews and questionnaires to collect data for your project.

It wasn't very fun (at least for me), but you can easily get a relatively good grade without having to study a lot.

Oh, and I never went to a theoretical class (I'm not even sure if that's a thing in this course...).

The reviews below this point may be outdated. Course content, teaching methods, and requirements may have changed since then.

CCU was one of the courses I enjoyed the most. The project has a relatively open theme, and you build it throughout the semester. The process is kind of similar to IPM in a way: you present parts of it almost every week, which is great for time management. The only real tight deadline is the actual development phase. You can use whatever technology you prefer for the project, and at the end, there’s a 25-page report, but you can include lots of visuals, so it’s very manageable. Groups are 5–6 people, with responsibilities split between members....
