It’s very theoretical. The exam is about 6 proof-based exercises, which isn’t very typical for LEIC.
But the project is actually pretty cool. There’s a list of N papers, you pick one and implement it in whatever language you want.
Cryptography, first of all, is a course from the Math department, and the professor (Paulo Mateus) clearly doesn’t care about LEIC students.
He says things like, and I swear I’m not making this up: 'In this course, the exam is for math students and the project is for computer science students. If you’re in LEIC, you better get a 20 on the project because you’re not getting more than a 3 on the exam.'
