Sistemas Robóticos em Manipulação
Student Feedback
SRM in MEIC is in a bit of a weird spot—it’s a very niche area of Robotics. You more or less get what you expect: you’ll learn how to control (in simulation) both simple and complex manipulators through direct and inverse kinematics, and how to plan trajectories for them.
The biggest letdown for me was the lack of supporting materials and guidance related to the project. The theoretical classes were solid, and the lab instructor was always helpful, but I think most groups still felt a bit lost during the project.
As for the exam, the theoretical syllabus is fairly small. The exam is similar...
This course focuses on concepts related to controlling the position of an articulated robotic arm (like the ones you see in car assembly lines or the Da Vinci Surgery robot), including how to move each joint from one position to another and how to control the speed of the arm’s motion.
The assessment is split 50/50: -An exam covering roughly 90% of the same material that appeared in the previous year's exam. -A two-part project using MATLAB and Simulink. The first part involves a complicated exercise, about ten times harder than any of the few exercises we did during the four practical...
