Financial Statement Analysis
Student Feedback
Professor is great but you need to start studying on the very first day. If you don’t have a solid background in that field, I recommend doing a fast read of the slides before class because she speaks very fast and it’s easy to miss something. Work project is feasible if you are in a group where everybody works, otherwise may be a little hard.
Super interesting course, it really unlocks a new view of how to analyse statements properly and also gives you a methodology to back you up. A must course in my opinon
The course is extremely fast-paced, but extremely useful and informative. One must have a solid understanding of financial accounting basics and basic understanding of valuation helps in the later parts of the courses. The professor goes through the material at a really fast pace, however it must be expected since it's an advanced elective. But she's really cooperative, prompt and helpful when approached after class or in office hours. The lectures are supposed to be 3 hours, but she usually finishes in approximately 2.0-2.5 hours
Extremely useful course that focuses on the impact of real-life/operational decisions of businesses in the financial statements; and teaches you how to take quick conclusions about the business model and its financial health just by looking at the statements. However, heavy workload and in general low grades (very hard to achieve 19/20).
The group projects are heavy and take a lot of time. The course is essential for managers in my opinion since you learn a lot. The professor is ok but she talks fast and it’s difficult to keep track of what she says. The grades are not terrible if you put the effort
Great and very important course. The courseload is heavy, although reduced from previous years. Still, with enough work you can Get a good grade on your assignments, and the exam (while time pressured) is not that hard if you practice.
Did not like the professor and workload was compared pretty high. If you like accounting you will learn something but for the basic accounting knowledge I think it’s not the best course.
Should have a decent accounting understanding (valuation understanding also helps) so you do not need to learn the basics of the course from scratch, otherwise it will be very heavy workload wise, e.g for non-undergraduate business students.
Grading is pretty fair, but expectations are quite high so you must be willing to but in the work to score >18 in the assignements.
Professor ist strict but fair, which I enjoyed greatly, she has her expectations that have to be met, if you put in the work, you receive a decent grade.
High workload for a 3.5 ECTS course (3 group works). The content is very interesting, but the teacher is rushing through the slides which makes it sometimes hard to follow. Exam grades were not the best. I would recommend the course if you want to lean something about the topic, but probably not to improve your GPA.
High workload ( 3 group assignements), but important and interesting content, the teacher is really good, grades were good; grades for final weren't the highest: avg. = 13.79 med = 15
