Prof Joaquim Jorge is kind of hilarious. He creates a very chill & fun atmosphere in lectures. Attendance are through kahoot and he gives out chocolate prizes like you're in middle school (hey, it works as a motivator) and the theoretical grade is the accumulative score of the in-lecture quizzes, which are very easy with slides. The content about VR is interesting, though a lot of it is about VR history and research, and not state of the art VR technology.

Overall Impression

This was a course I didn't expect to like, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. The content was engaging, especially during the project phase and the hands-on aspect with VR and Unity made it fun.

Teachers

  • Professor Anderson handled the theoretical lectures.

    • While he teaches well and explains concepts clearly (unlike in Computer Graphics from the Bachelor's), the lectures felt repetitive and boring over time, but you still learn something from them.
  • Professor Pedro Belchior was the TA for the labs.

⚠️ Just a heads-up: I personally didn’t like this course and think it’s kind of a trap.

Theoretical classes

The theoretical classes are boring, and the professor wasn’t exactly engaging and a bit nagging. For example, someone once said they were sick and asked not to turn on their camera, but he kept insisting the whole class. He would also email asking why we missed class, taught while walking on a treadmill (lol), and during the pandemic he expected us to do user tests with 20 people.
