Redes Prediais e Instalações em Edificios
Descrição
Objectives
Knowledge acquisition about the technical systems to be considered throughout the Architecture design process, in terms of new construction and rehabilitation. In particular, Water, Sanitary and AVAC Services for Buildings are studied. The students will learn their characteristics and requirements and will be able to evaluate their costs and effectiveness, maintenance and reconversion requirements, in order to facilitate the work and dialogue in a multidisciplinary team.
Syllabus
Water supply systems: an historical perspective and fundamental concepts. Building networks for water distribution: design and sizing. Wastewater and rainwater drainage systems: an historical and current perspective. Building networks for wastewater and stormwater drainage: design and. General infrastructures in drainage networks. Challenges in the water sector: rainwater drainage in urban environments and water reuse. sizing HVAC facilities: design and sizing. Ventilation and QAI. Air distribution in spaces. Thermal comfort: basic principles, PVM and PPD. Building acclimatization. Thermal loads. Energy balances.
Cross Competence Component
Critical Thinking, specifically in solving problems and articulating different concepts of Construction Physics with other domains of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills, specifically autonomy, self-discipline, self-motivation and participation in classes, interaction with students , work organization and time management skills. The percentage of assessment associated with these skills will be 10%.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every students shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every students shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
