Best course I have had in this MSc. Very interesting topics covered, essential for an understanding of energy systems and the markets. The professors are both very good and helpful if there are doubts. I advise you to try both so you can decide which suits you better, since their methods differ (Rui Castro is very calm and the rythm of the classes is sometimes too slow and he gives his lessons in portuguese and Hugo Morais is faster and more problems focused, lecturing in english). The evaluation is two tests, 30 minutes each, covering a small part of the course. They are done in 2/3 shifts...

Assessment is based entirely on two tests, which closely follow the exercises covered in class, the slide material, and class attendance. Attending the classes is highly recommended to keep up with the material and catch the specific tricks and tips for the exercises.
While the theory lectures are nothing extraordinary, the concepts are well explained and the professors are always open to answering questions.

It's a very interesting course, especially for those who don't come from an electrical engineering background or don't know enough about economics.
There are two shifts of theoretical classes, one in Portuguese and another in English, and four shifts of problem classes.
As for the teaching, the theoretical classes are quite good, but the shifts are sometimes not in sync, so if you switch shifts, maybe ask someone what the other shift has already covered. The problem classes are a good complement, helping to consolidate the more theoretical concepts with practical exercises, although the pace...
