The structure of the discipline, as well as the teaching-learning program and methodologies, had the followingobjectives as guidelines:-Know the diversity of marine fisheries and the type of gears used;- Recognize the impact of anthropogenic factors over marine living resources; - Understand the fish stock assessment strategies using different models;- Know the role of national and international organizations responsible for ensuring the sustainable exploitation ofthese resources;- Deepen the knowledge of the nutritional value of marine fish resources with the greatest potential for the future andfor the sustainability - fishing and aquaculture approaches;- Apply analytical methodologies in the field of marine food upgrading with special emphasis on the quality of theproduct; - Know and apply extractive technological processes and solutions for the transformation and formulation of highadded value foods.
