Arqueozoologia e Arqueobotânica

The students will be familiar with the nature and characteristics of the faunal and floral materials occurring in archaeological sites and will understand the importance of its study for the reconstitution of the functioning of the communities and the characteristics of the surrounding environment.
Notion of ecofact. Manipulation of several types of archeological materials (remains of vertebrates and malacofauna) and acquisition of rudiments of techniques for its study, such as the determination of specific remains and macroscopic and microscopic analysis. Integration of results from the archeozoological and archeofloristic information in archaeological studies: the importance of transdisciplinarity in the archeological speech.
