Objectives
The approved student must be able to: design, implement and audit a quality system according the ISO 17025 and the ISO 9001 standards; apply methods and procedures for calibrations (uncertainty, certificates of calibration, acceptance criterions); apply procedures for enquiry based on samples and statistical process control; understand the influence of the human factor in the quality; calculate the quality costs.
Syllabus
1.The quality concept. Definitions (accreditation, certification, quality system, etc). Quality management systems. 2. The Portuguese quality system. The standards ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and NP 4397. 3. How to design and implement a management quality system. 4. The quality control. 5. How to audit a quality system. 6. Occupational health and safety management systems. Staff management. 7. Calibrations and uncertainties. 8. Procedures for enquiry based on samples and statistical process control. 9. Quality costs. IMPORTANT:In this discipline the students must read Portuguese legislation and to write one quality manual and three quality procedures in Portuguese.
