Objectives
To present the fundamentals, concepts and tools of the Project Management knowledge area offering a systemic and integrative view of its different vectors. At the end of the course, the approved students should be able to: • Identify the situations in which project management methodologies should be used. • Initiate the project by identifying project's stakeholders and their expectations. • Plan a project to meet specifications, time and cost. • Identify and manage project's risks. • Control effectively time and cost of a project using the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology. • Be able to properly close the project. • Know complementary approaches in Project Management. • Use PM software.

Cross Competence Component
The UC allows the development of transversal competences on Critical Thinking (critical thinking, problem solving approaches, creativity) within project development; Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills (oral and written communication, teamwork, productivity and time management, perseverance, self- motivation skills) within project development; and Information and Media Literacy (ability to locate and access information, structuring and formatting of documents and presentations) within project presentation and project report. The assessment percentage associated with these competences is 10%.
Laboratorial Component
There are two labs dedicated to the use of the basic features of Project Management software, and one lab dedicated to the Monte Carlo Simulation technique using Microsoft Excel. The Laboratory component represents 21% of the Practical Classes.
Programming And Computing Component
In the Project development, the students have to schedule the project, do the resource allocation and the project budget using Microsoft Project software. The use of Project Management software (Microsoft Project) represents 30% of the Project development.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
