Descrição

The primary objective of this curricular unit is to endow students with essential experimental skills across diverse biochemical domains. To achieve this, students will actively participate in research teams led by faculty and researchers from the Department of Chemistry (or other departments) at NOVA FCT (or (other institutions). Through a rotational laboratory program, students will undertake two distinct rotations over the course of the semester. Each rotation will span four full days over 2 weeks, totaling 24 h per rotation.

Within each laboratory, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and gain hands-on experience with techniques widely employed by the group in various biological systems. This immersive approach will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the multiple techniques utilized in moderb biochemical research. Given the experimental nature of this curricular unit, we also aim to instill the fundamental principles of scientific and academic integrity, namely honesty, trust, responsibility, objectivity, impartiality, independence, openness, and accessibility.
