Os slide são um pouco densos, mas penso que toda a informação necessária para ter uma boa nota no teste está lá. Os professores também são bastantes disponíveis. Penso que as aulas práticas são importantes para perceber melhor como a teoria funciona na prática e para perceber as coisas para o exame. Realizar os labs também é muito importante, porque permite aumentar um pouco a nota e perceber melhor a matéria.

The slides are dense, but all the material is there, and the professor explains the examples well. The project is manageable, and the lab sessions are straightforward and quick to complete. The only challenging part of the course was the exam; otherwise, it’s one of the few courses where you don’t feel like you’re constantly scrambling to keep up with the material. I think it’s a good choice if you’re taking more challenging courses during the same term.

This course is also known as Databases 2, for those who had DB 1 in the Bachelor's. It's pretty much a natural continuation of that, and AID. Just as in my review with that, I recommend going to the classes but they are highly theoretical, hard to digest and could be much more practical. Labs are optional and I didn't go to a single one. Honestly I think it's kind of bad that the teachers just give you a lab guide and basically save themselves more class time but the course was good so I'm not complaining. To me this is the perfect type of course because the exam forces you to actually learn...

• Teaching

  It’s one of those courses you can easily pass without going to classes. The theoretical lectures aren’t very important, I only attended about 10% and still understood everything without much effort. The labs are also a bit lackluster. They’re meant to help with the project and weekly assignments, but honestly, you can skip most of them and still do well.

It was a very good course, going to the theorectical class is very important because the teacher says everything that goes on the exam. The labs aren't necessary, I recomend that you do them before class with you partner (groups of 2 with a great labguide to follow) this way you'll be perfectly prepared for the project and don't need to waste time in class, only if you didn't understand something.

I liked the contents of the course. The evaluation methods are ideal in my opinion. I would like if more exams of previous years were released but understand the teachers' reasoning on why not to do it.

This course is basically an advanced Database Systems class. It covers a lot of stuff, from query optimization to distributed database systems. The course is known to be fairly easy. It's a good option for Distributed Systems students who want a manageable fourth course that still teaches useful skills. I'm taking it this semester, and all the feedback I've heard has been positive.
