Throughout this course, students will acquire skills and abilities that allow
them to:
- Understand the historical and cultural contexts of the 19th, 20th and 21st
centuries, recognizing the intersection of political, economic and social
aspects.
- Identify the main lines of modern and contemporary cultural production and
their debates.
- Become aware of the way in which values, categories and historical problems
change over time and how the historiographical debate is related to the
economic, social, political and cultural aspects of each period.
- demonstrate critical judgement in discussing and carrying out research or
writing essays in the history of art and culture.
- understand the research methodologies in Social and Human Sciences, as an
integral part of the decision-making process in conservation and restoration
interventions.
