Objectives

Global approach to quality characterization of existing transport infrastructures (roads, airfields and railways), namely respecting the pavements (load bearing structures), materials, construction equipments, construction and rehabilitation processes and technology all related with maintenance of those pavements.

Syllabus

1 - Syllabus. 2 - Structural design of construction and rehabilitation of road and airport pavements. 3 – Road and airport pavements construction and maintenance: intervention types; materials, construction equipments, construction and rehabilitation processes and technology. 4 – Quality characterization for road and railways infrastructures. 5 – Maintenance management principles for road, airport (air side) and railways infrastructures.

The evaluation of the former soft skills components should approximately correspond to 20% of the final grades.

Laboratorial Component

Monitoring and conducting quality control tests and performance assessment for materials used in road and airfield pavements.

Programming And Computing Component

Use of software for structural pavement analysis.
