The project was good, I advise doing it in a full group. The professors were also good but the materials are extensive and not easy to get through.

The project requires a lot of dedication, but the fact that the course instructors are so dedicated helps immensely. I didn't quite grasp the purpose of the oral presentations—they seemed like an assessment component less directly related to the course material than the project or the exam—but it was something I hadn't encountered in other courses, and I think it was useful nonetheless. The slides contain a great deal of information, which makes the lectures somewhat dense. Personally, I found it a bit difficult to follow along; however, even though I didn't attend every class, what I recalled...

Theoretical Classes → Professor Luís Veiga clearly explains each topic and you can freely ask him any question.

Lab Classes → My TA was Afonso Fernandes, although he might appear to be a bit shy he explains and helps with the project a lot, would definitely recommend him. The lab classes themselves were initially focused on the 4 lab worksheets (1 per week). Then the statement came out in the beginning of the 3rd week and then you can of course opt to either focus on the project or the lab worksheets (all of the worksheets are useful for the project though).

Project → The project...

I did this course in Taguspark.

The theoretical classes professor Luís Veiga was fantastic. The course was very interesting and the project was a lot of fun to work on.

The project focused on configuring a Linux image, setting up your services, load balancer, autoscaler, using instrumentation data and deploying everything and stress testing to ensure you can respond to the workload requests.

I think there's a bit too many topics to cover and we end up glancing over a lot of them. I would prefer a more focused approach on fewer...

Disclaimer: Although people look at the course name and see 'Cloud', don't forget that there's also 'Virtualization' in the name. A lot of people enrolled in this course thinking they'd just learn about the Cloud, only to find out that half the course covers low-level subjects. Keep that in mind.

Teachers

The course was taught by Professor Luís Veiga. He's a decent professor, but teaches at a very fast pace. I think that's necessary given the amount of topics covered.

Theory

Personally, and based on reviews from other students,...

Project

The project statement really incomplete and vague about what needed to be done. Not in the sense that there was a lot of freedom and you could make your own decisions, but more like important things were just missing. You have to attend a bunch of office hours before you actually understand what you’re supposed to do. Luckily, Professor Luís Veiga cares and helps a lot, but it really shouldn’t be necessary (I feel like the SEC Prof also cares, and still we didn’t need to go ask about every single line of the...
