It's called Advanced M&A but to be honest should be Introduction to M&A. Very easy and straightforward course but colleagues who had previous experience in M&A thought it was boring and didn't add much. Focuses a bit too much on the legal, compliance and risk side of things and not so much on the strategic or modeling part of M&A. Very light workload (one group work which is a fairly quick M&A case study).

For a Master’s in Finance elective that labels itself as “Advanced,” the course does not require knowledge beyond what is typically expected in average investment banking interview questions. For any student with a clear ambition to pursue a career in transactions—and who has already completed a Master’s in Finance—the syllabus is highly simplistic, focusing mainly on basic accretion/dilution mechanics. Pro-forma accounting is arguably the only component that provides any meaningful value added.

Very interesting course. I just felt like it was pretty badly-organised (EPS dilution and Synergies distribution explained few days before the deadline for the group assignment in which we were obviously expected to include these concepts) and somehow superficial in some critical points.
