Corporate Valuation

Excellent course for any finance student that expects to do any kind of corporate valuation in their career. Professor has experience in the field and teaches in a practical way.

However, the workload on the group work is very high. You have only 3 weeks to do a complete valuation on a complicated company, and grades on the group work are not good. But then the exam is easy and the grades on the exam are very good.

Very interesting and important course, and you learn a lot. Main drawbacks is the heavy workload. Especially for the group assignment, where we were given a startup company (Virgin Galactic) which felt quite impossible to value (valuation based mainly assumptions).

The exam usually focuses a lot on conceptual questions, which require actual understanding of what the assumptions behind valuation methods, g, beta, risk etc. means. Which is very good and pushes you to learn more. Of course, there are some quantitative questions in the exam as well.

Overall, would recommend but be prepared for...
