Objectives
To understand the problems and challenges that exist in the relationship between Smart City, Smart People and Smart Governance. To have the ability to develop practical solutions at the level of: the institutional organizations (smart administration); the decision-making process (smart decision-making procedures); collaborative approaches (smart collaboration); the empowerment of local populations (Smart Urban Communities).
Syllabus
1. The fundamental principles: Concepts; Stakeholders; Technological, urban and social changes; Network society; Privacy, security and ethics; Transparency and collective interest. 2. Smart Administration >> E-government: The network channels. Radar: Listening to users; Solution repositories; Leadership; Open-data and governance; Strategic planning. 3. Intelligent and collaborative decision-making processes >> Public participation: Techniques, methodologies and collaborative processes and their relationship with technology; Good practices. 4. Smart Citizenship: Networks of local communities, involvement and associated technologies; Sociourban co- creation; Shared economy. 5. Governance of the city of the future >> Exploration and reflection on how new models of governance, behaviors and emerging technologies can contribute to improving the quality of life of urban communities.
Cross Competence Component
Development of soft skills in: Critical Thinking, namely strategic thinking about problem solving approaches; Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills (oral, organizational and teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, self- motivation); and Information and media literacy (ability to locate and access information, as well as to analyze and evaluate media content). The assessment percentage associated with these skills should be around 20%.
