Projecto de Investigação em Ciência e Tecnologias Quânticas
Description
Objectives
This course aims at initiating students in research in Quantum Science and Technologies, confronting them with a scientific challenge in the field of Quantum Information Theory, Quantum Computing, Quantum Telecommunications, or Quantum Sensors and Metrology, and developing their capacity to work autonomously. Each research project will be supervised by a professor or researcher from IST with relevant scientific activity, or by a specialist from a university, research centre, company, or state organization partner of the Minor in Science and Quantum Technologies, in Portugal or abroad.
Syllabus
Specific to each individual project.
Prerequisites
Introduction to Quantum Information and Computation (IICQ), Quantum Technologies Laboratory (LabTeQ / DEEC) for experimental projects.
Cross Competence Component
Time management, team work with the supervisor (and their potential collaborators), oral expression, written expression.
Programming And Computing Component
If the research project is focused on quantum information processing, students will develop skills in quantum computing and programming.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group’s work. In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
