Description

Objectives

The main objective of the Quantum Technologies Laboratory Course Unit is to provide students with the essential experimental skills for the basic understanding of quantum physics, quantum telecommunications, and some aspects of sensors and quantum metrology.

Syllabus

- Introduction to laboratory procedures; - Safety; - Visualization of fundamental experiments on quantum optics; - Project based learning implementation of an experiment;

Prerequisites

Quantum mechanics course unit

Cross Competence Component

The laboratory component is based on the collaborative effort of students, culminating in a written report. The following skills are considered to have been developed: Teamwork (20%) and written communication (20%).

Laboratorial Component

The laboratory component is based on the execution of experiments based on the topics taught.

Ethical Principles

All members of a group are responsible for the group’s work In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution. Editar
