Objectives

Apply mathematics to solve real-world problems.

Syllabus

Develop a project where mathematics is applied to solve a real world problem from one of the following areas: industrial mathematics, optimization, statistics or computer systems. Preferably, an industry or services partner poses the problem, while a faculty member supervises the approach to the problem. The project work is to be done in teams and the students must propose the mathematical model. In most cases, the project should include the development of computer programs for simulations.
