Description
At the end of this course students will have acquired knowledge, skills and competences that will allow them:
To identify the most important groups of ocean pollutants, including the emerging pollutants, micro and nano pollutants,
their routes into the oceans, internal processes they suffer, toxicity and effects on marine ecosystems and man.
Develop strategies to detect and remove pollutants and minimize effects on marine organisms and disturbance to ecosystem services
Apply measures to reduce and control effects through state-of-the-art technologies for removal of these pollutants through national and international case studies and to know the available regulations and legislation.
Recognize how to act to prevent and control water pollution in line with UN SDGs 6 and 14.
