Análise Prospetiva e Planeamento em Saúde

The course aims to acquire skills in the context of demographic and foresight analysis, strategic planning and equipment programming in the health sector through the "learn-by-doing". In the end students should: 1. Know the demographic models of behaviour of human populations, the major trends of current and future demographic evolution, and a critical assessment of the distinct risks and challenges that characterize each region; 2. Recognize the characteristics and objectives of demographic analysis y and know how to calculate and interpret micro demographic indicators of population characterization; 3. Be able to carry out basic forward exercises and to know how to read and manage the conclusions obtained and their significance; and 4. to recognise the advantages of the forward exercise for the improvement of population’s health policies to support decision-making in the sphere of public strategic planning, ecological planning and equipment programming policies.
