Objectives

Dimension and execution of quarry projects and economic feasibility studies

Syllabus

Rock masses exploitation (aggregates, sand, clays and ornamental stones). Ornamental stones processing for granites, limestones and marbles. Exploitation work program, pit design, excavation volumes estimation, organization and operations management. Environmental study and landscape rehabilitation plans. Economic feasibility study.

Prerequisites

Knowledge obtained in LEGM and MEGM courses: Rock Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Methods and Tecnologies in Mining, Explosives and Ventilation Engineering

Cross Competence Component

Development of critical thinking and problem solving, team work, oral and writing communication. (20%)

Ethical Principles

All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every students shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every students shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
