Engenharia de Explosivos e Ventilação
Description
Objectives
This discipline aims to frame and give knowledge on blasting operations and ventilation in mining engineering for usage, dimension and design in complex systems in open and underground mining environments, considering environmental and safety legislation.
Syllabus
Explosives: definitions; drilling quality and control (BORETRACK and LASER PROFILER); explosives thermal and dynamic properties, initiation characteristics; selection criteria depending explosives application; surface and underground excavation applications domains and environmental impacts control and minimization; legislation. ventilation: fundamentals in underground mines; experimental tests (wind tunnels); natural and forces ventilation; net and system of ventilation (simple and complex); analysis and simulation
Prerequisites
Physics
Cross Competence Component
Development of critical thinking and problem solving, team work, oral and writing communication. Encourage productivity and time management stablishing deadlines for the delivery of reports (10%)
Laboratorial Component
