Planeamento e Controlo de Operações
Description
Objectives
The objective of the course is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of operations planning and control. Provide students with the ability to identify and implement appropriate methodologies for solving illustrative cases of real situations in the field of operations planning and control. And be critical about it analysis. Explore commercial software to solve problems within the scope of UC.
Syllabus
Introduction to operations planning and control in the context of Industry 4.0: characterization of Industry 4.0 and operations planning and control; Data management and use in decision support. Demand Management and Forecasting: Fundamentals. Univariate smoothing and decomposition models. Arima Univariate. Multivariate regression. Optimal planning: development MILP models exploring real scenarios, Dynamic Lot sizing procedures. Implementation and characterization of operations scheduling with heuristic and exact models. Exact models: Resource-Task-Network (RTN) and State-Task-Network (STN). Heuristic models: one or more parallel machines, flowshop production system, job-shop and setup. Multi-product inventory control. Systems Inventory with uncertainty and the connection to production control.
Cross Competence Component
Critical and Innovative Thinking - 10% (students have to identify and characterize a real problem in a business environment, identify its gaps and propose an innovative solution to solve it and define how to implement this solution in practice) Interpersonal Skills - 5% (oral presentation, intragroup assessment of teamwork).
Laboratorial Component
Laboratory using software: Excel, Gams, SPSS - 50%
Programming And Computing Component
Modeling and implementation of illustrative problems of real cases, in a laboratory environment.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
