Gestão de Cadeias de Abastecimento
Description
Objectives
The main objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand supply chain management in an integrated form. The various functions within the supply chain will be studied from the strategic to the operational levels. By end, students should be able to understand, analyze critically and propose solutions for solving supply chain problems, from strategic to operational levels, which may arise when managing such systems.
Syllabus
1 -Introduction to Supply Chain Management. Strategic, tactical and operational decisions. 2 - Supply Chain Planning: network design; inventory location of; resources allocation 3 - Inventory Management and risk pooling? Centralized versus decentralized systems. 4 - Information Value: the bullwhip effect 5 - Supply Chain Integration: pull, push and push-pull systems. 6 - Strategic Alliances: 3PLs, supplier-retail partnerships, distribution integration. 7 - Procurement and Outsourcing. 8 - Products and the supply chains; coordination, design for logistics, supplier integration, mass customization. 9 - Internationalization and Risk Management 10 - Supply chain trends.
Cross Competence Component
The UC allows the development of a set of transversal competences, namely in: Critical and Innovative Thinking - developing creativity, strategic thinking, and approaches to identify, analyze, and solve real case studies discussed in class as well as on developing the mini-project and on the answer to classroom quizzes; Interpersonal and interpersonal skills - developing communication and organizational skills, teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, self- motivation and time management, aspects required when solving the real- case studies and the mini-project. Global Citizenship - building capacity to deal with colleagues from different backgrounds as the UC systematically engages foreigners students Information and media literacy - ability to locate and access information as well as to analyze and evaluate media content related to UC practical component. The related assessment percentage is in the order of 10%.
Laboratorial Component
The UC involves in the practical component the mathematical modeling of supply chain problems namely network design and planning as well as inventory management. The use of excel and modeling / optimization software is explored ( GAMS; Anaconda).
Programming And Computing Component
Problem modelling and optimization in supply chain management, usando GAMS; Anaconda.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
