At the end of this curricular unit the student will have acquired the knowledge, skills and competences that allow to:

- Know the physical limit of digital transmission of information

- Base-band and bandpass digital transmission techniques, including aspects such as spectral and power efficiency.

- Transmitter and receiver characterization for these types of signals, as well as appropriate signal processing algorithms.

- Channel codification techniques and coding/decoding algorithms.

- Become familiar with high capacity digital transmission techniques employed in modern digital communication systems

- Solid theoretical bases and abilities that allow a professional activity in the telecommunications area, or more advanced studies.
