Description

By the end of this course unit, students will have acquired knowledge, skills, and competences that will enable them to:

  • Understand the fundamental concepts of electrical and thermal energy production (conversion).
  • Be able to analyze basic electrical circuits, particularly in alternating current regimes.
  • Be able to develop energy and mass balances applied to industrial processes.
  • Understand the main energy technologies in industry and develop simplified calculations on consumption or sizing.
  • Understand the organization of the national energy system, comprehend energy statistics, and the applicable tariff structures, particularly in industry.
  • Understand the scope of an energy audit.
  • Be able to perform applied thermodynamic calculations, particularly understanding the main thermodynamic cycles.
