Programação Orientada por Objectos
Description
Objectives
The course three main operational goals are: (i) object-oriented modelling with UML; (ii) object-oriented implementation using Java; (iii) object- oriented Web computing, mainly markup languages, Applets and JavaScript programming.
Syllabus
1 - OO history and background. 2 - UML modeling. 3 - Introduction to Java. 4 - Classes and objects in Java. 5 - Methods in Java. 6 - Inheritance and associations in Java. 7 - Interfaces and packages in Java. 8 - Java exceptions. 9 - J2SE Containers, Comparators and Iterators. 10 - J2SE Input/Output. 11 - SAX and DOM tools for XML parsing. 12 - WWW computing.
Prerequisites
Programming skils.
Cross Competence Component
The UC encompasses the development of transversal competences on Critical and Innovative Thinking, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills (oral, organizational and teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, self-motivation skills) and Information and Media Literacy (ability to locate and access information, as well as to analyze and evaluate media content) within the lab problems and project. The assessment percentage associated with these competencies should be around 20%.
Laboratorial Component
Laboratory and project components are related and described next. The laboratory component will consist of small problems envisaging the acquisition of specific knowledge that will constitute the basis of the project that follows. Laboratories are not evaluated. The project will depart from the knowledge acquired from the lab problems, aiming to develop an object-oriented program. The students will have to develop a UML model for the problem at hand and implement it accordingly in Java. The evaluation of the project will be based on the UML and a written report, as well as oral defense and functional demonstration of the project.
Programming And Computing Component
The laboratory and project components require Java programming.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group’s work In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
