Description

By the end of this course, students will have developed the following skills:

  • Understand the production methods and material composition of various photographic materials from a historical perspective.
  • Gain knowledge of the chemical, optical, and mechanical properties associated with photographic media.
  • Analyze and comprehend the primary causes of deterioration in photographic materials.
  • Apply identification methodologies using both visual indicators and rigorous analytical methods.
  • Diagnose the physical and material condition of photographic materials.
  • Implement preventive conservation measures for the proper storage and preservation of different types of photographic media.
  • Write and present a detailed report on the identification and diagnosis of a photograph.

Soft Skills: Time management, teamwork, bibliographic research, report writing (structure, presentation, and citations), proficiency in IT tools, effective communication and presentation skills
