Description

At the end of this course, the student will have acquired knowledge and skills that will allow him to:

To know:

  • Understand the technical nature of the discipline and the relationship with Conservation and Restoration.
  • Consolidate and develop knowledge aimed at documenting heritage.
  • Know different methods of image acquisition and treatment (2D and 3D).
  • Understand the characteristics of these images.
  • Evaluate image quality (e.g. image compression).

Know how to do:

  • Use photographic equipment.
  • Plan and carry out the documentation of heritage objects.
  • Use different sources and lighting angles.
  • Make acquisition, treatment and preservation of images.
  • Conduct pathologies mapping (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Know how to build 3D models of heritage objects.

Soft skills:

  • Documentation planning and management;
  • Identification and selection of working tools (lighting, equipment, working conditions, software, etc.);
  • Bibliographic research;
  • Expression and communication.
