During this curricular unit the students will have acquired skills that will help them to:

- Elaborate a problematized analysis of Ancient art and culture, while becoming familiarized with the artistic periods included in the Syllabus in order to be able to understand the historical-artistic framework and the inherent religious, social, economic and geo-political issues

- Understand a specific framework and its influence in the definition of the artistic aspects, being aware of the way different backgrounds condition and are conditioned by the artistic context

- Analyze different works and insert them in their distinct artistic periods, recognizing their main characteristics and thinking critically about the cultural and artistic productions

- Develop the capacity of research in History of the Art as an integrant part of the decision process in conservation and restoration interventions, understanding the specific methodologies of social and human sciences
