Objectives

Contribute to the training and capacity building of future civil engineers in tasks related to the management of a project under construction

Syllabus

Organization and installation of the construction site; Management of construction site equipment; Quality and Safety at Work; Construction and demolition waste management; Review of contract prices

Construction Organisation and Management I course

Cross Competence Component

The CU allows the development of transversal competences on Critical Thinking, namely strategic thinking and problem solving approaches, within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and miniproject; Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills (oral, organizational and teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, self-motivation skills - within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and group assignment); and Information and Media Literacy (ability to locate and access information, as well as to analyze and evaluate media content - within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and group assignment). The assessment percentage associated with these competences should be around 10%.

Ethical Principles

All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every students shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every students shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
