Description
Objectives
To contribute for the education and information of the future civil engineers in the realization of the tasks related to the coordination, supervision and management of construction works.
Syllabus
Construction projects management (concepts, terminology, legal framework, construction stages, management process groups and aspects, stakeholders, planning and control processes organization); Projects and construction works; Qualification system for construction companies; Design and measurement rules; From the procurement to starting the construction works; Budgeting the construction works from the point of view of the contractors; Execution, payments and reception of the works.
Prerequisites
Knowledge on construction materials and technology, attendance of the Construction Materials I course/subject
Cross Competence Component
The CU allows the development of transversal competences on Critical Thinking, namely strategic thinking and problem solving approaches, within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and miniproject; Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills (oral, organizational and teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, self-motivation skills - within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and group assignment); and Information and Media Literacy (ability to locate and access information, as well as to analyze and evaluate media content - within the assignments, flash and paper presentations, and group assignment). The assessment percentage associated with these competences should be around 10%.
Ethical Principles
All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every students shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every students shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
