Description

Objectives

Concept of Project. Project life cycle. Role of the project management. Time, cost and risk management models. The relevance of procurement. Contract formation project. Types of contracts. Contracts Implementation.

Syllabus

Project systemic approach. Elements and relationships, activities and resources definition. Productivity, pace and duration concepts. CPM and PERT models. AOA and AON networks. Minimum duration, critical activities and critical paths. Slacks determination. Project management with impose deadline. Resource allocation, levelling. Basic concepts for decision analysis. Scope and fundamentals for investment analysis. Uncertainty and risk in project management. Contracting: choosing the contract type, publication, request for proposal, analysis, review of proposals, evaluation and award.

Cross Competence Component

The CU, in the group works assignments and in the approaches to problem solving in the mini-tests and final exam, allows the development of transversal competences in Critical Thinking (strategic thinking, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving approaches), Interpersonal Skills ( communication, teamwork and leadership), Intrapersonal Skills (productivity and time management, stress management, proactivity and initiative) and Information and Media Literacy (use of software tools from the user's perspective, structuring and formatting of documents). The assessment percentage associated with these skills should be around 20%.

Ethical Principles

All members of a group are responsible for the group's work. In any assessment, every students shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used. In an oral assessment, every students shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
