I have to admit that I only passed this course on my second attempt. Since I didn't come from a Finance background, it took me longer to fully grasp the concepts, but the second time around everything clicked into place.

A tip for future students: make sure to do all the exercises available on Moodle before both the Midterm and the final exam. Most of the exam questions follow the same logical reasoning as these exercises, so practicing them thoroughly really pays off.

As aulas eram muito boas, o professor era mesmo muito bom e os vídeos ajudavam a complementar, principalmente na altura de estudo mais intenso. É estranho como o exame era tão simples, mas tão bem feito: as perguntas faziam muito sentido e eram muito aplicáveis.

A carga de trabalho era grande por termos tido um exame, um teste e dois trabalhos, além de termos que dar feedback a outros trabalhos etc.

Num geral, cadeira super completa e muito útil mesmo.

Nice professor, interesting course, you need to study, but the workload is reasonable

I found the course and the course requirements a bit heavy and difficult. Specially considering the fact that this is a mandatory course and not an optional elective. For those sure of the fact that they will not be working in a finance area, some of the topics might feel irrelevant. The professor's style of teaching was also rather dry. However the group assignment was nice and fun as a learrning experience.

The course structure is good with weekly videos, classes, exercises for each topic. Mid term was heavy but doable. In the final exam, for the makeup, the duration was shortened but the number of exercises were basically the same, leading to every student not finishing the exam (but no adjustments in grading were made by the teaching team). Therefore, do the regular exam if possible.

Overall, I really appreciated the structure of the course and the way the content was delivered. The weekly video lessons were especially valuable, as they allowed me to learn at my own pace and revisit concepts whenever needed. This format made it much easier to fully grasp the material.

One area that could be improved is the level of support available to students. More opportunities for live interaction — such as office hours or quick moments to clarify questions in real time — would greatly enhance the learning experience.
