Objectives

Earn competences for the understanding of the specificities related to the transport main modes and infrastructures (road, aviation, railway, maritime).

Syllabus

1 - Course organization 2 - Description of leading technologies, involving vehicles and infrastructures, covering all modes (road, aviation, railway, maritime). 3 - Constraints imposed to design and operation by safety and comfort concerns. 4 - Performance monitoring and management and service quality control. 5 - Configuration of urban mobility systems, modal choice, value and challenges of modal and services integration. 6 - Restrictions involved in design and operation of logistics facilities

Mandatory for the program.

Cross Competence Component

Due to evaluation structure (50% within group practical works) it is believed that the course contributes to development of personal and with others relationships competences, promoting the criticism and diferenciated approaches about the necessary analysis of the subjects, and demanding the search of alternatives not previously discussed. Percentage associated with these skills is around 20%

Programming And Computing Component

When doing the practical works students are exposed to the use of software available to analytical approaches and eventual design of alternatives.
