Objectives

• Understand the scope and reasons of Public Policy and of Public Policy Analysis, its main drivers, the processes of Agenda Setting, Policy Design and Implementation; • Master the techniques of Policy Analysis, including public acceptability; • Know the main factors of good institutional design.

Syllabus

1. Concepts of Public policy, Politics, Policy analysis 2. Needs and drivers of policy and techniques for comparative policy analisys 3. Policy processes, evaluation and design 4. Conflict resolution 5. Devising strategies towards sustainability 6.EU Transport Policy and Transport Networks (TEN-T) 7. Environmental values in transport policy 8. Specific policies for the different transport modes

Students should have been exposed to System Thinking Rational

Cross Competence Component

The UC allows the development of soft skills in Critical Thinking, namely strategic thinking and problem-solving approaches, during the project development; and Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills (oral, organizational and team work, self-discipline, perseverance, self-motivation) also during the project development. The assessment percentage associated with these competences should be around 40%.
