Description

Objectives

A - This course aims to give students a general knowledge about the development of new technologies for diagnosis and therapy using ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. Examples of recent developments with significant potential for application to human health will be addressed. B - All topics will be introduced to promote a critical evaluation its advantages and disadvantages, stimulating the participation of students. C - Students are expected to be exposed to the latest scientific advances in this field. Recognized specialists in some of these emerging areas will be invited to present their research to students. D - The practical part of this course aims to familiarize students with the clinical implementation clinical of new treatment and diagnostic techniques in a hospital in the Departments of Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiology by medical physicists. By doing this we intend to complement curriculum units which the students should have already completed.
