Description

Objectives

Space is an unnatural environment for Man and, for that very reason, imposes new challenges to his health. This course aims to characterize the different systems of the human body and their physiological adaptations in relation to air activity and the aerospace environment, discussing topics related to altitude (hypoxia, dysbarism, and decompression sickness), spatial disorientation, visual illusions, G-force, and human factors in aviation. In terms of specific objectives, upon successfully completing the course, the student will be able to: 1. Understand the principles of human physiology in an aerospace environment and the differences of its aeronautical and space components. 2. Understand the clinical implications of a Human being in an aerospace environment. 3. Know the physical principles that characterize the aerospace environment. 4. Know the scientific methodology applied to this area of Medicine. 5. Research and orally present a topic of scientific research in this area.
