Description

Objectives

The main objective of the course is to present, in a simple and accessible way, statistical methodologies applied to Biomedical and Biophysical Engineering. It is intended to deepen topics covered in previous courses such as statistical inference and regression models.

Syllabus

Non-Parametric Statistics Non-Parametric Tests vs. parametric tests: differences, advantages and disadvantages; Tests for a sample; Tests for two samples; Tests for more than two samples; Correlation coefficients 4. Correlation and Simple Linear Regression Model 5. Multiple Linear Regression Model Equation of the multiple linear model; Estimation and interpretation of model parameters; covariate selection method; collinearity; interaction; dummy variable contrasts; diagnostic methods (hypothesis testing and residual analysis); prediction 6.
