Description

Objectives

This course introduces the fundamental concepts related to digital twins applied to industrial and service environments, through a combination of theory and engineering projects. Discrete system modeling with BPM is addressed. The aim is to study methods for modeling and analyzing industrial systems and services, simulation techniques for this type of systems, and methodologies for planning tasks (operations), as well as for allocating resources and tasks. These concepts are essential to be introduced in order to describe and deepen the theory of digital twins, which are addressed afterwards. Several practical applications of real cases of digital twins in industrial and service environments are described.
